Summary:
It is evening as the party enters the hiding place of the cloaked figure, discovering Davien Martikov, the father of Irwin Martikov. Davien reveals that forest folk (druids) and their blights, along with the entity Babalasaga (referred to as Lisa), have driven his family out of the Wizard of Wines vineyard.
Davien shares the dangers ahead: four druids, eight needle blights, three greater Strix, and eight vine blights. The druid leader possesses a magical staff controlling these creatures, which must be destroyed or stolen. He advises going underground into the cellar to find and deal with the staff.
The party learns that the tunnel leading to the cellar passes through a cavern filled with brown mold, immune to fire but weak against cold damage. Staying centered on the dirt path is crucial to avoid harm.
Davien recounts a family tragedy tied to Elrich, who died three months ago during a march on Castle Ravenloft. His death and the loss of a prized gemstone stolen from the winery shattered the family.
Muriel stays behind to guard the exit while the party ventures through the tunnel. They discover a box adorned with a snowflake hanging from a rusted iron hook. Inside are three winter wolf teeth enchanted by mountain folk, which can release freezing blasts or grant immunity to cold damage.
Using one of the enchanted teeth, the party blasts past the mold blocking their path and reaches the cellar. Rogues scout ahead, spotting eight twig blights and a druid.
Veyren turns into a mouse and overhears a druid torturing a raven for information about a lost item. The druid becomes aware of Veyren and calls out to the mouse, demanding a conversation.
