Summary:

The party arrives at Castle Ravenloft in a black carriage, having solved the puzzle chest and claimed its rewards: velvet-trimmed gloves, wolf-trimmed cloaks, and a chest of holding.

Upon arrival, they are greeted by Rahadin and Anastrasia, who usher them into the castle’s grand halls. The atmosphere is tense and theatrical, filled with a strange mix of elegance and dread.

They meet Escher, a blonde man with a suspicious past—once a friend of Doru, now believed to have betrayed him. Aera notices that several women dressed as brides seem visibly uncomfortable, hinting at deeper unrest.

Volenta and Ludmila are also present, adding to the castle’s eerie ensemble. Anastrasia introduces Sasha and Escher with a biting remark. Sasha trembles under her words, and Malron senses that Sasha may be a potential informant—perhaps even a spy.

A masked servant arrives, trembling, his fingers severed at the first knuckle. He offers purple liquid to the party while the vampires drink red wine. An accident occurs—he spills red wine on Volenta’s white dress, causing a stir.

Zorpheus and Sasha volunteer to help clean the mess, retrieving mops from the castle’s depths. In the kitchen, they encounter a man resembling Cyrus, and in the wine cellar, they find a woman hanging upside down, being drained of blood.

Sasha discreetly shares a cryptic tip with Zorpheus:

“Sixth pedal from the left on the organ.”

Later, Strahd himself offers a tour and recommends the party visit the Amber Temple to the far west.
