A maimed, terrified servant at our reception in Castle Ravenloft. He came in shaking, his fingers cut off at the first knuckle. He poured a purple drink for us, and the vampires drank a red one that we took to be blood. Then his trembling hands spilled red wine on Volenta’s white dress, and there was a stir. Past the kitchen, in the wine cellar, Zorpheus found a woman hanging upside down and being drained of her blood, and we think she was the servant’s wife⁠39.
