Whispers in the Barons Mansion
So, is that spelled Viktor or Victor?
After-Action Adventure Report: “Whispers in the Baron’s Mansion”
The Baron’s Den
- Padded Chairs and Pretense: The Den welcomed our party with plush chairs, but Malron’s audacious ruse allowed him to ascend the stairs unnoticed. Meanwhile, Schlopkht attempted to jam a door, buying precious moments for clandestine exploration.
- The Haunting Spirit: The Baron revealed that a malevolent spirit plagued the mansion, driving away staff. The cook had witnessed its eerie presence. But why did the Baron wish to keep the women ignorant?
- Failed Persuasion: Our party’s attempt to peruse the Baron’s books met resistance. However, the Baron agreed to lead them to the kitchen.
The Kitchen and Gallery
- Silhouettes and Suspicion: In the kitchen, a distorted silhouette hinted at the spirit’s presence. Viktor, the Baron’s son, vanished to the attic for hours. Strange illnesses and noises added to the mansion’s enigma.
- Familiar Names: A dusty book revealed Ireena Strazni’s tragic fate—presumed devoured by wolves. Grygori and Fatima Strazni’s suicides cast shadows over the family history.
The Library and Viktor
Malron found a book about births and deaths of Vellaki families. I see a familiar name. Ireena Strazni, the younger sister of Izek Strazni and the daughter of Grygori and Fatima Strazni. According to the records, however, Ireena Strazni died more than eighteen years ago at the age of four, with Grygori and Fatima dying shortly thereafter. Grygori and Fatima’s deaths are marked as Suicide by hanging, while Ireena’s cause of death is marked as Unknown (presumed devoured by wolves).
- Invisible Revelations: Viktor, the invisible man, materialized in the library. His spellbook bore the ring’s symbol—a connection to Khazan, the original mage.
- Forbidden Magic: Viktor studied necromancy and other arcane arts using the ring. His curiosity centered on Khazan’s tower—a place barred to outsiders.
- Lies and Mirrors: Viktor’s nervous glances at mirrors betrayed his secrets. His spectral cat and the painted dolls hinted at deeper mysteries.

The Attic
- Glyphs and Warnings: “All is not well” adorned the attic door. Glyphs of warding guarded it. What lay beyond?
- Schlopkht’s Ruse: A staged fall revealed the ring before Viktor. The truth remained elusive.
- Teleportation Circle: Beneath a rug, etched sigils formed a teleportation circle. Viktor tested it, with gruesome results.
And so, dear reader, our adventurers stand at the precipice—the Baron’s mansion concealing more than mere specters. The path forward winds through deception, magic, and the unknown. 🌌🔍✨
